Racing Live Car Guide
Car Overview
The role of cars in Racing Live is one of the most commonly misunderstood elements of the game. They are not the same as car parts or your standard equipment options.
Every Crew Member MUST HAVE A CAR.
If a crew member does not have a car, then they are NOT USED and any car parts that you purchased for that crew member are also NOT USED. This makes logical sense because, without a car, the crew member would not be able to race and there would also be no place to install the extra car parts (1 of each type per car).
Example: I am level 3 with 15 crew members. I have 5 cars, 15 Cold Air Intake. When I race another player, I will only be using 5 cars and 5 Cold Air Intake. The extra 10 Cold Air Intake are NOT USED despite the 15 crew members because I only have 5 cars.
In Racing Live, cars have the following properties:
- Speed (used interchangeably in this guide with Attack): Used to calculate your Attack points when Attacking
- Handling (used interchangeably in this guide with Defense): Used to calculate your Defense points when Defending
- Cost: Purchase Price (can be sold for 50% of cost)
- Upkeep: ** IMPORTANT ** The amount that it costs to maintain that car per income cycle.
Car Strategy
Cars should be your first purchase for every crew member before you buy any car parts. It may be tempting to buy the more expensive cars, but you need to consider the total Speed (attack) or Handling (defense) points that you have when including car parts in relation to the increased upkeep costs.
Bottom Line: It is better to have 1 cheaper car for every crew member than to have a few expensive cars but not enough cars for everyone.
For more detailed analysis of cars and car parts, see the Racing Live Car Parts Guide.
Costs
Cars are the costliest items in Racing Live and their upkeep costs can be a significant strain on your income. Given the low ROI of the real estate in Racing Live, it is especially important that you develop a strong income stream in order to be successful in the game. Make sure you check out the Racing Live Real Estate Guide.
Loot
It is possible to receive cars as loot by completing certain street jobs. In my opinion, this is one of the most effective ways to obtain cars for your crew members. I highly recommend that you focus on the "Race on a Bet" (Mitsubishi Eclipse) and "Escape from Police" (Police Cruiser) street jobs. The cars that you randomly receive from these 2 jobs are an excellent value in terms of Speed/Handling versus Upkeep costs and have the added benefit of being "free".
Racing
When racing against another player, if you have more than 1 car per crew member, then the cars with the best speed are automatically used when attacking. Conversely, the cars with the best handling are automatically used when defending.
Car Table
The following is a complete list of all cars available in Racing Live including those that can be randomly received as loot for completing specific street jobs. Please note that promotional cars are not included because they can not be acquired within the game - you can find more information about them in the Racing Live Loot Guide.
